What is Aqua Aura Quartz?
When we first found out about Aqua Aura Quartz, we were confused.
We thought Aqua Aura Quartz was another kind of naturally occuring Quartz...
It's not.
Aqua Aura is the same as regular Clear Quartz... but it's been bonded with a precious metal -- gold.
Cool that clear quartz + gold = beautiful blue crystal right?
We'll save explaining how crystals are bonded with precious metals for another article.
What's important is that the extra precious metals mean that Aqua Aura Quartz does have slightly different properties than regular Quartz.
So while clear quartz resonates through all 7 chakras, the Aqua Aura variety vibrates well with the Throat Chakra.
Given it's blue color, that shouldn't be too much a surprise.
Because the main difference is the addition of gold, the methods of care for this gem are pretty similar to Clear Quartz.
Although that's true for all types of Aura Quartz.
Hopefully this short "disclaimer" has helped clear up what Aqua Aura Quartz actually is...
and what it's not.
And we hope the rest of the article helps you learn how to take care of your Aqua Aura Quartz!
General Care for a Aqua Aura Quartz
Like almost all types of quartz, this baby blue stone scores a super average 7 on Mohs scale of mineral hardness.
Which just means your other crystals might scratch it.
And it might scratch some of your other crystals.
So unless you want scratched crystal... you should keep your stones seperated.
Don't just stuff it in a your closet though!
It could get sad being hidden away.
And it will definitely get dusty.
Only one way to fix that!
How To Clean Your Aqua Aura Quartz Crystal
Bubble baths and blue. What's better than that?
But wait a moment!
Isn't it bonded with gold?
Can soap hurt our precious metal?
Nope!
Gold isn't hurt by soap. Or even vinegar.
Which works well for us since we don't want to hurt our crystal!
And since neither tumbled nor raw Aqua Aura Quartz is harmed from a little bit of vinegar...
It's time for a bath!
...How do you give Aqua Aura Quartz a vinegar bath?
It's simply:
- Fill your favorite bowl with vinegar, warm lemon juice, or soapy water.
- Let your piece enjoy its bath for awhile.
- Use a soft cloth and polish your crystal.
- Run some warm water over your stone to get rid of the vinegar smell.
Will Your Aqua Aura Quartz Fade?
There are a couple different crystals that fade due to direct sunlight.
Sodalite, Amethyst, and Amazonite are a few examples.
Lucky for us, real Aqua Aura Quartz will not fade in the sun.
How to Charge Aqua Aura Quartz
Charging your raw Aqua Aura Quartz or tumbled stone is as easy as letting it return to Mother Earth for 24 hours.
Dig into your lawn a little bit, let it to rest, and leave it to recharge.
We suggest using a form of natural covering or a cloth bag to keep to dirt from falling into your raw Aqua Aura Quartz's porous surface.
If you're working with a tumbled stone, no need!
You can also consider putting the crystal in Full Moon moonlight to cleanse your gemstone too.
Check If Your Aqua Aura Quartz Is Real
Whether or not your stone is fake shouldn't be your first concern.
You've gotta make sure you haven't accidently picked the wrong kind of crystal!
There are many blue gemstones that share a similar look :
Siberian-Blue, Tanzanite, Spinel, Kyanite, and Sapphire just to name a few.
Once you're confident you haven't mixed up your gems, let's check you have real Aqua Aura Quartz.
Start by touching your crystal and checking if it's cool to the touch.
It is?
That's a fanastic sign!
But let's do a couple more tests.
How To Do a "Fog Test"
If you have a Aqua Aura and want to confirm it’s authenticity... just breath on it.
Sound strange? We know. But it works!
Real Aqua Aura crystal will evaporate your breath in under a second.
But a fake gem can take as long as 5 seconds to evaporate.
The fog test works because real stone holds moisture for longer than fakes do.
Why?
Fake Aqua Aura is made from glass.
How To Do a "Bubble Test"
Lead glass has another physical flaw -- bubbles.
You will notice tiny bubbles in your fake Aqua Aura if you look closely.
But remember, inclusions are not the same as bubbles!
Inclusions are really small crystals that stopped growing and were surround by more crystal.
Because real stones years to form, they could have tiny crystals inside -- but won't have air trapped inside.
And if you think you're gonna find a glass gemstone without ANY air pockets inside...
No way.

The expression of soul energy is then activated, fulfilling your highest potential.
Aqua Aura stimulates channeling and self-expression, and deepens spiritual attunement and communication.

It bestows profound peace during meditation.
Aqua Aura can be used in conjuction with other crystals to enhance their healing properties.
Physical Properties
The base form of Aqua Aura Quartz is in different types of rock around the world :
- Metamorphic
- Sedimentary
- Igneous
The base form, Clear Quartz, is naturally resistant to both physical and chemical damage.
Although it's bonded with gold, Aqua Aura Quartz manages to only get a 7 on Mohs scale of mineral hardness.
How Rare Is Aqua Aura Quartz?
Although clear Quartz is very a common mineral, Aqua Aura Quartz is not.
While it is more rare than regular quartz, it's still not a precious or rare crystal.
It's rarity comes from being bonded with gold, which isn't that profitable to do.
For that reason, there isn't nearly as much Aqua Aura Quartz as there is plain quartz.
But that's okay!
It just means we can get a unique stone without having to pay Sugilite level prices.
Smaller stones of Aqua Aura Quartz cost as low as $2 per carat.
Higher quality pieces range from $5 - $10 per carat depending on the size and quality of the gemstones.
